Italy & La Dolce Vita: Rome & the Flower Power of the Island of Ischia
Roma – Ischia – Capri – Naples -  Pompeii – Sorrent - Roma

 

1st Day: Departure from the U.S.A.

2nd Day: ROME
Arrival at Fiumincino (Rome airport), where the tour manager will meet you in the arrival hall. Together you and your group will transfer to our hotel. We will then proceed to enjoying our lunch. In the afternoon we will enjoy an informative sightseeing tour passing by the major attractions like the Colosseum, the Piazza Navona and several other sights. Dinner will be served at the hotel. (L, D)

3rd Day: ROME
After breakfast we will visit the Basilica di San Petro (St. Peter’s Cathedrale).
In the afternoon we will embark a small vessel on the River Tevere for a nice trip.
In the evening the tour manager will guide us to a typical Italian local restaurant. (B, D)

4th Day: ROME – ISLAND OF ISCHIA
After breakfast we will check out and continue our trip to the isle of Ischia. On our way to this enchanting island we will have a lunch break. In the evening, after a boat ride we will arrive at our hotel, where after check in we will have dinner.

Ischia, the island of regeneration, of energies, of beauty and history. Ischia has an abiding beauty and attraction, due to its riches in natural resources. The island has a unique supply of hot springs, spas, volcanic mud and valuable minerals. 

5th Day: ISLAND OF ISCHIA – CAPRI - ISCHIA
Today we enjoy a beautiful trip to the Island of Capri. After disembarking the boat a guide will take us through this unique island to the most interesting sights.
We will also visit the Villa San Michele di Axel Munthe. After our lunch break we continue on to the center of the island and visit the Garden of August. Afterwards we have some free time available to either  discover the island or the Grotta Azzura (not included). We willTransfer back to Ischia where we will have dinner at the hotel. (B, D)             

6th Day: ISLAND OF ISCHIA
A bus will takes us to the beautiful places of this isle, which include Aragon’s castle, the Museum Villa Arbusto and Sant’ Angelo church.
Ischia port is also famous for the imposing Aragon's castle, rich with tales of blood and thunder. In the past, the castle was the town itself, housing 1900 families, various religious orders and 13 churches.
After our exciting day we will have dinner at the hotel. (B, D)
        
7th Day: ISLAND OF ISCHIA
Today if our free day, where we are free for own activities. Dinner will be served at the hotel. (B, D)

8th Day: ISLAND OF ISCHIA – SORRENT – POMPEII – LIDO DI OSTIA
We have an early breakfast as we have a morning boat ride (6.40 am) to the main land. After visiting Sorrent the highlight of the day will be the experience of discovering Pompeii.
Romans took control of Pompeii around 200 BC. On August 24, 79 AD, the volcano Vesuvius erupted, buried the nearby town Pompeii in ash and soot, killing 20000 people, and preserving the city in its state from that fateful day. Pompeii is an excavation site and outdoor museum of an ancient Roman settlement (Wikitravel).
We continue our journey to Ostia. (B, D)
 
9th day: ROME/FIUMINICINO Departure to the U.S.A.
After breakfast we then transfer back to the airport of Rome.
