The MOZART DINNER CONCERT takes place in a unique, historic atmosphere. The Baroquehall of Stiftskeller St. Peter is part of the famous Benedictine monastery and is situated in the oldest part of Salzburg. You won´t find many concert halls, where real candle light is still used but on the Baroque Hall in Salzburg It si permitted. STIFTSKELLER ST. PETER is the oldest restaurant in Europe. It was first mentioned in 803 on occasion of Charlemagne´s visit. Even the Mozart family had dinner there: "Nannerl" Mozart wrote in her diary in october 1783: “papa and henry had lunch at st peter. made music ... rained heavily“.
In 1789 in the church of St. Peter monastery Mozart´s c-minor-mass (KV 427) was performed for the first time. His wife Constanze sang one of the sopran solo parts.

The Salzburg Baroque Museum was installed in the southern wing of the former Orangery in 1973. The works of art on display are first-rate examples of progressive sketches and designs of monumental structures in the 17th and 18th centuries. The collection was donated to the City and Province of Salzburg by Professor Dr. Kurt Rossacher and his wife Else under the proviso that the collection be open to the public. The exhibits range from works by Rubens, Cortona, Maffei, Bernini and Algardi, Rottmayr, Altomonte and Troger, Tiepolo and the Guardis to Maulbertsch and Fragonard.
