CHRISTMAS SPIRIT IN EASTERN EUROPE
Vienna, Budapest & Prague


 

1st Day: Departure U.S.A

2nd Day: Arrival Vienna Airport
We arrive Vienna early in the morning and transfer directly to our hotel. Relax after the long distance flight at the hotel. The afternoon will be open to explore the city by ourselves or join an optional tour. Before dinner get - together with a welcome drink at the hotel. (B, D)

3rd Day: Vienna
At 9:30 a.m. we depart for our morning sightseeing tour. We will visit Schoenbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Habsburg family, pass by major sights like the Opera house, the City Hall and the Parliament.
In the afternoon we stroll through one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Vienna:
The Christmas Market on Vienna's City Hall Square is an unforgettable highlight for visitors eager to get into the Christmas spirit. The unique backdrop of the Burgtheater and Vienna City Hall gives this Christmas market a charm all of its own. The delicious aroma of punch, traditional gingerbread, roasted almonds and honey puts everyone in the Christmas mood.
There is an evening transfer from the city center to our hotel. (B)

4th Day: Vienna - Budapest
After breakfast we travel to Budapest. Check-In at the hotel. The afternoon is free for shopping at the Vaci Utca (pedestrian zone).
Evening dinner at the hotel. (B, D)

5th Day: Budapest
At 9.30 a.m. we meet each other in the lobby for the half day sightseeing tour: visit of the Fisher Bastion and the Mathias church, stop at the Hero’s square and the St. Stephans Basilika. In the afternoon we enjoy the beautiful Christmas market:
The biggest outdoor event of the winter season, which awaits its visitors for over a month at Vörösmarty tér, with mulled wine, traditional handicrafts, gifts and decorations, with funnel cakes, a children's play place, Santa Claus, an advent calendar, a giant Christmas tree and beautiful, festive lights.
In the evening we spend our time at a typical Hungarian restaurant with folk music, good wine and excellent food. (B, D)

6th Day: Budapest - Prague
Right after breakfast we continue on to Prague. We stop for a lunch break (not included) on the way to the Czech Republic. Check-In at the hotel. Evening free to explore the city e.g. take pictures of the illuminated Charles Bridge. (B)

7th Day: Prague
We enjoy a wonderful morning sightseeing tour of Prague, walk to the Wenceslas Square, the Golden Lane and experience a joyful view over the old town.
In the afternoon we will stroll through the Christmas market:
The Prague Christmas markets consist of brightly decorated wooden huts selling a variety of traditional Czech products from handicrafts and hot food (corn on the cob, sausages and local specialties), to Czech beers and warm drinks.
And what would Christmas be without carols? Local and International choirs and musical ensembles take to the stage in the Old Town Square to entertain visitors.

Dinner will be served in a typical restaurant. (B, D)

8th Day: Prague – Ceske Krumlov - Vienna/surrounding
After breakfast we will continue our journey to Ceske Krumlov, a UNESCO heritage village. We will spend some time by walking through the old lanes before we continue on our trip to Austria.
Farewell dinner at the hotel. (B, D)

9th Day: Departure Vienna Airport
After breakfast we will transfer to the airport for a flight back home. (B)
