Pinakothek der Moderne
Germany's most highly frequented art gallery focuses on five categories of classic modernism: architecture, painting, graphics, sculpture and design. However, you will also find video installations, photography and other contemporary art. The museum has recently been completed and now contains the largest collection of modern art in Germany, being itself a fascinating piece of modern architecture.

Alte Pinakothek
The oldest of the three Pinakotheks exhibits the works of artists from the Middle Ages to late Baroque

Neue Pinakothek
Bavaria's largest collection of works from the late 18th to the early 20th century have found their home here

KITZBUEHEL

Hiking Paradise Kitzbühel
Hiking is the favourite sport among summer tourists. Kitzbühel's extensive selection of hiking trails makes the area a hikers' paradise. You will surely find your favourite hiking path among the 1,000 kilometres of perfectly maintained trails. Kitzbühel Tourismus offers free guided hikes with experienced guides. Don't miss this unique opportunity of getting to know the countryside and its people.

Cycling
Kitzbühel is the place to be for cyclists. No matter which discipline you prefer, 1,000 kilometres of road cycling paths in a large variety of distances and difficulty levels as well as an extensive network of trails and Alpine service roads provide multi-faceted exercising opportunities. The scenic street leading up to Kitzbüheler Horn is Austria's steepest cycling road and has become a classic road cycling street for road cyclists around the world. Kitzbühel is a true centre of athletic activity and offers endless cycling opportunities.

Golf
Four golf courses located in Kitzbühel as well as 30 other courses all located within 100 kilometres make the area the golfing centre of the Alps. Golf in Kitzbühel looks back on an impressive history: it has been practised in the so-called city of the chamois since as early as 1955. It all started at the Kitzbühel Kaps golf club.

Swimming
Discover Kitzbühel's large selection of aquatic recreational activities. Schwarzsee lake, located between Kitzbühel and Reith, is one of the most beautiful and warmest swimming lakes in the Alps. Thanks to its high mud content, this lake warms up quickly in the spring, thus making its soothing and relaxing effects easily accessible early on in the year. We also recommend Gieringer Weiher, another mud lake, the covered water park Aquarena and the swimming pool in the Jochberg woods.

Running & Walking
Kitzbühel is THE running mecca of the Alps. Both visitors and locals will be delighted to discover a wide range of distances and difficulty levels that will allow them to run through Kitzbühel's most beautiful places. A total of 23 runs covering 170 kilometres and offering 11 different starting points make for an extensive selection of walking, nordic walking and running opportunities.

Tennis
Kitzbühel and tennis: what a legendary match! People have played tennis in Kitzbühel since 1889. The first international tournament ever in Kitzbühel was the Alpine Country Trophy that took place in 1945. No other place in Austria has such a long tennis history.

Triathlon
In 2010, Kitzbühel hosted the "Dextro Energy Triathlon," a triathlon world championship series. Thanks to this major international event, Kitzbühel joined the ranks of large cities and Olympic Game host cities such as Sydney, Seoul, Madrid, London and Hamburg for the second time. Since the early days of the triathlon boom in the 1980s, Kitzbühel had already been on the forefront of this development. This tradition continues to this day, especially thanks to Kitzbühel's support of up-and-coming young triathletes.
